In April of 2023 the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) issued the second largest fine in its history to the CO2 pipeline company responsible for the disastrous rupture in Satartia, Mississippi.
That's why on Wednesday May 31 from 3-4:30 PM we are rallying outside of PHMSA's two-day conference in Des Moines asking them to:
- Publicly call for a moratorium on CO2 pipelines; and
- To create the strongest possible safety regulations for CO2 pipelines.

We won't be test dummies for Summit, Navigator and Wolf to make billions of dollars on these dangerous projects. We need a moratorium on CO2 pipelines until federal safety regulations are created and we need PHMSA to use their power to push for it.
A moratorium on CO2 pipelines could delay these proposed projects for multiple years, which is an important part of our strategy to stop them.
