Rep. Fisher should not use private school vouchers!

At Iowa CCI, we believe that every child – no matter their zip code, background, race, gender, identity, or ability – has an equal right to a quality education. That means fully funding our public schools, urban and rural, so that every child gets an accurate and honest education that prepares them for their future and an opportunity to pursue their dreams. Students deserve an opportunity to grow and learn, and together we can defend students, their future, and advocate for a more affirming and supportive education system.

State Representative Dean Fisher campaigned on private vouchers, voted for them, and now he wants to cash in by setting up his own private school in Tama-Toledo. He plans to use voucher money to pay the bulk of the school’s operating costs – up to $900,000 - $1.2 million of public dollars every year. This is wrong and we believe his actions are in violation of the House Code of Ethics. Iowa CCI filed a House Ethics complaint against Fisher on 2/28/2024. Will you add your name in support of our Ethics Complaint? (we will only include your name and city).
