What: Planning and Zoning Commission meeting
Where: Mitchell County Courthouse, Osage, Iowa
When: Wednesday, March 2nd at 6:00 pm
Who: Anyone who is interested in the CO2 pipeline issue in Mitchell County
There will be no public comment available at this meeting, but the more people who show up shows support for this ordinance, and for the volunteer planning and zoning commission through out this process.
Passing a setback and zoning ordinance could help our communities be better prepared for the potential risks to our health, land, and water from Summit’s hazardous CO2 pipeline and protect the future economic development of Mitchell County so that people won’t be discouraged from wanting to build home, start a family, or grow a local business in our communities.
It is a tool to help local officials be better prepared in the case of a CO2 pipeline rupture, protects future economic development for the county, and can give the local community some peace of mind.
Together we will protect the people and places we love from hazardous CO2 pipelines!
