tell the DOT to invest in clean transportationThe State of Iowa Department of Transportation (DOT) is gathering input about how it will use the $21 million received from the VW emissions scandal settlement.

The settlement requires that states use the money to replace or repower diesel engines --  with cleaner diesel, natural gas, propane, hybrids or with all electric vehicles.

The money will go toward infrastructure investments that will be around for decades to come. We know the Iowa DOT is already hearing from dirty energy interests who want to invest in natural gas-powered buses. This decision would keep us locked in a fossil fuel economy and strengthen the fracking industry.

We can act now to make sure Iowa uses our resources to transition to 100% clean energy and protect our communities.

Sign our petition today. Tell the Iowa DOT to use Iowa’s VW settlement dollars on clean energy and clean energy infrastructure.
