Dear Kelli Book, We support the joint comments from IEC, Iowa CCI, and other Iowa based organizations. Specifically, we would like to see the rules for factory farms in Iowa do the following. 1) Increase the separation distance from factory farms and karst terrain to at least 25 feet 2) Require factory farm Manure Management Plans be submitted online and readily available to the public 3) Adopt the proposed rules that decrease the overapplication of toxic liquid manure from factory farm We need the Iowa DNR to do their job to protect our water and environment, not carry water for agribusiness interests.
