No more taxpayer money for Big Ag!
That's what we're telling the Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA) next week when they vote to give millions of dollars in handouts to Prestage Farms, an out-of-state corporation and the nation's 5th largest hog producer.
Prestage wants to build a massive slaughterhouse in Wright County that would eventually kill 20,000 hogs per day. This project will mean more factory farms, more pollution in our air and water, low-wage and high-injury jobs, and dimished quality of life.
Iowa taxpayers shouldn't be subsidizing this industry. That's why we're standing together to say NO to this bad project.
