Iowa DNR just released the 2016 Impaired Waters List. No surprise here: the list grew from 736 impaired waterbodies in 2014 to 750 in 2016.

The EPC will also talk about changing administrative rules to start getting Manure Management Plans online. It's a step in the right direction, but the rules could be stronger. DNR should:
- Set a timeline for getting all MMPs – not just the 1-pager – online and accessible to the public.
- Describe how the new system will work for both operators and everyday Iowans.
- Ensure that the same level of transparency will continue under the new system so that counties know when updated MMPs are available.
- Require that factory farmers provide a detailed list of each and every change that has been made since the previous MMP – not just a general overview.
